DAY 01: YANGON

Arrive in Yangon - This decaying colonial city, one of Asia’s most fascinating relic’s is probably best described by what it does not have – traffic jams, fast-food restaurants, freeways, smog, lots of tourists and flashy discos. More than other city in Asia, Yangon still reflects the “Romance of the East” as evoked by the writings of Conrad and Kipling.

After clearing Immigration & Customs, you’ll be met & welcomed by your local guide and transfer to your Hotel located in the centre of Yangon. Check in & leisure at the rest of the day to relax after long Int’l flights.

DAY 02: YANGON – BAGAN

After early breakfast, transfer to airport for Bagan – a historic capital, known as “the city of four million pagodas”, is the richest archaeological site in Asia, and today is considered one of the wonders of the world. The temples, stupas and pagodas of Bagan are the most impressive relics of the first period of Myanmar greatness offering a rich architectural heritage from the 11th to 13th century Era. Situated on the eastern bank of Ayeyarwaddy River, Bagan covers more than 42 square kilometers – by morning flight.

Upon arrival in Nyaung U airport, transfer to Hotel in Bagan. Then explore ancient pagodas & temples including Mingalazedi, Gubyaukkyi, Ma-nu-ha Temple, Law-ka-nanda, Shwe-san-daw, the massive Dhamma-yan-gyi noted for its remarkable brickwork, Su-la-muni & continue visit major temples of Shwezigon built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine. At sunset time, you will climb to the summit of a tall, serene structure and watch panoramic scene of glorious Bagan and the sun drop into the distant hills. Magical moments!

DAY 03: BAGAN – POPA MOUNTAIN – BAGAN

Drive to Mt. Popa, a great extinct old volcano, is a forest-clad landmark rising to 1520 meters from the flat, surrounding Myingan Plains. It is a place of special importance in both the country's history & culture. The natural springs, flowers and wooded hillsides greatly contrast to the air lands surrounding it. On top of the mountain, there are monasteries, pagodas and shrines in different style.

In the afternoon, explore the countryside village of Minn Nan Thu, the least visited temple area in Bagan. Observe the local farmers’ way of life together with a visit to some of the most interesting temples such as Payathonzu, with its unusual architecture and Tantric Buddhism influence, Lemyethna and Nandamannya temples & to MyinKaBa village to see lacquer-ware family workshops.

DAY 04: BAGAN – YANGON

Fly back to Yangon.

Enjoy city sightseeing; started with Yangon’s colonial-style city center, visit Sule Pagoda, dating back over 2,000 years ago; the magnificent reclining Buddha at Chauk Htat Gyi; and after a photo stop at the Karaweik Hall, a 'hamsa-bird-shaped' floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake. In the afternoon, drive to Bogyoke (Scott) market – Yangon’s largest & liveliest market for shopping & evening transfer to the great “Shwedagon Pagoda”, one of the most impressive Buddhist shrines anywhere in the world. The best time to visit Shwedagon Pagoda is at sunset when its gilded stupa is bathed in the fading rays of the sun and takes on a magical glow.

DAY 05: YANGON

Free at leisure until transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
