Day 1 – Arrival (Hanoi) (D) Arrive in Hanoi. Transfer to hotel. Free at leisure. Dinner at local restaurant with Vietnamese food. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2 – Hanoi (B,L,D) Hanoi is a unique city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples will give you the unforgettable imagines. Full day city tour with visits to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Fine Arts Museum and Temple of Literature, Museum of Ethnology and the Lake of the Restored Sword and the Old Quarter of Vietnam’s capital. Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show in the evening. Lunch with Hanoi’s famous Cha Ca. Dinner at a most delicious Vietnamese restaurant in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3 – Hanoi – Ha Tay – Hai Phong (B,L,D)
Transfer to Ha Tay to visit
Mong Phu ancient
village with its particular communal house. Wander in the back-to-300
year village, talk to people, watch the village’s daily life activity to
feel the past…then visit an ancient temple – Mia – with its lively
expressive statues of Bhuda, Ahrats, etc.
Day 4 – Hai Phong – Halong (B,L,D) Transfer to the harbour in the morning for boarding the hydrofoil for the 55-minute journey to Cat Ba Island, the largest one in the bay. Board a private boat for a cruise among some of the 3,000 limestone islands that are scattered throughout this spectacular bay. Seafood lunch on board. Visit some grottoes. Procced to Halong by boat. Dinner at local restaurant. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Halong.
Day 5 – Halong – Hanoi – Sapa (B,L,D) Morning: Free to relax at the beach or walk around the city. Check out the hotel. Return to Hanoi via Hai Duong. Visit some handicraft workshops on the way. Lunch en route. Arrive in Hanoi in the afternoon. Free time to explore the city or shopping. Dinner at local restaurant before get on night train for Lao Cai. Transfer to the railway station for train going to Lao Cai. Overnight in the train.
Day 6 – Lao Cai – Sapa (B,L,D)
Arrive in Lao Cai in the early morning. Transfer to Sapa, a former French
hill resort and home to some of Vietnam’s most colorful ethnic groups.
Transfer to hotel. Breakfast and a short relax (around 1-2 hours).
Day 7 – Sapa – Hanoi (B,L,D) Full day: Light trekking or mountain bike riding to further explore the rustic villages scattered among the valleys and hillsides. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant. In the evening, transfer to Lao Cai station for train to Hanoi. Overnight in the train.
Day 8 – Hanoi – Hue (B,L,D) Arrive in Hanoi in the morning. Breakfast at the local restaurant with speciality Pho. Transfer to Noi Bai airport for short flight to Hue. Arrive in Hue, transfer to the hotel. Dinner at local restaurant with Hue’s food. Overnight in Hue.
Day 9 – Hue (B,L,D) Boat trip on the romantically Perfume River to visit Hue’s best-known religious site: Mausoleum of former emperor Minh Mang, Thien Mu Pagoda. Transfer to visit the mausoleum of former emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh and the former Forbidden City (Imperial Citadel) from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Lunch at local restaurant. Royal style dinner with traditional music and songs. Overnight in Hue.
Day 10 – Hue – Danang – Hoi An (B,L,D) Leave Hue by road for Danang via the scenic fishing village of Lang Co and the Pass of Ocean Clouds. Stop in Danang to visit the Cham Museum containing the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. Lunch at local restaurant with Chinese food. On the road to Hoi An visit five sacred hills known as the Marble Mountains containing dozens of Buddhist shrines and the beautiful Non Nuoc Beach. Arrival in Hoi An and transfer to hotel. Hoi An was a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18thcenturies and its architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years. A walking tour of the ancient town centre offers visits to the former merchants’ homes, the over 300 year-old Japanese Style Bridge and the local market. Dinner at restaurant with Hoi An’s traditional speciality. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 11 – Hoi An – My Son – Quy Nhon (B,L,D) Morning: A half day trip visit the former capital and religious centre of the former Champa kingdom – My Son – dating from between the 17th and 13 centuries. Box lunch or lunch en route. Proceed to Quy Nhon. Visit My Lai Massacre Memorial on the way. Arrive in Quy Nhon, transfer to hotel. Relax at the beach. Dinner and overnight in Quy Nhon.
Day 12 – Quy Nhon – Nha Trang (B,L,D) Drive to Nha Trang. Visit several Cham Towers on the way. Arrive in Nha Trang, check in hotel. Lunch at local restaurant with seafood (or in the island before sightseeing). In the afternoon, boat trip on Nha Trang bay, the 29th in 60 nicest bays in the world to visit some of the nearby islands and there are opportunities to swim and snorkel in the clear warm waters. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 13 – Nha Trang – Dalat (B,L,D) Nha Trang city tour in the afternoon to visit Po Nagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda with its enormous white Buddha statue. Check out the hotel. Transfer to Dalat via Phan Rang. Lunch at Cam Ranh town with delicious seafood. Stop over en route to visit the 13th century Po Klong Jarai Cham Towers perched high on a rocky hill surrounded by prickly pear cacti. Arrive in Dalat, check in at the hotel. Dinner and Overnight in Dalat.
Day 14 – Dalat (B,L,D) Dalat tour starts with visits to the former summer residence of Emperor Bao Dai, the old Dalat Railway Station, Xuan Huong Lake, Love’s valley, Flower garden, the Central Market and Pagodas. Established as a hill station at the beginning of the century, Dalat is reminiscent of an alpine town with its French chalets and pine forests. Lunch and dinner with local speciality at local restaurant. Overnight in Dalat.
Day 15 – Dalat – Ho Chi Minh City (B,L,D) In the morning, free some hours for browsing Dalat’s souvenirs or fruits in the market. Then leave for a scenic drive through rubber and tea plantations en route to Ho Chi Minh City. Lunch en route. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Dinner at local restaurant with Vietnamese folk show. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 16 – Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh City (B,L,D) In the morning: Half day city tour of Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals. Visit the former Presidential Palace (or Historical Museum), the Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Saigon Post Office, a lacquer ware workshop and Thien Hau Pagoda in the city’s bustling Chinatown. Lunch at Vietnamese restaurant. In the afternoon: Excursion to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. Dinner with Chinese Vietnamese taste at local restaurant. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 17 – Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (B,L,D) Full day trip to the watery world of the Mekong Delta, just a couple of hours by road from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City’s streets. Boat trip along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetation, enjoy tropical fruits at a farm house or orchard garden. Lunch with local delicacy Elephant’s Ear Fish. Back to Ho Chi Minh City. Cruise dinner. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City. (B,L,D)
Day 18 - Departure (Ho Chi Minh City) (B) Departure day. At leisure until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for onward flight.
