Day trip to Kbal Spean and the temple of Bantey Srey

Day 1: Siem Reap  - Kbal Spean – Bantey Srey - Siem Reap

 

7:00 AM - Departure for excursion at Kbal Spean / Phnom Koulen or The River of the Thousand Lingas a the River of the Thousand Lingas in the second sacred site in the Koulen Mountains and was "discovered "in 1968 by Jean Boulbet, a French researcher from the Ecole Francaise d'Extreme-Orient. It should take about half an hour walking through the jungle (take good walking shoes-non slippery ones during the rain season) before you reach the river that contributes to the irrigation of Angkor. The bed of the river is lavishly sculpted. Numerous lingas lay there, caressed by the crystal – clear waters. Bas-reliefs depict scenes from the Brahman pantheon such as Vishnu lying, his head sheltered by a Naga (a snake with multiple heads) or Brahma born out of a lotus. According to inscriptions found there, the site was decorated from 1054 onwards. Enjoy a Picnic lunch in a serene environment. a After lunch return to Siem Reap a half way between Kbal Spean and Siem Reap visit the magnificent Bantey Srey temple, the “jewel among the Angkor temples” a late afternoon return to Siem Reap.

 

Note: For those who cannot make the jungle walk, a similar itinerary can be made to Phnom Koulen, which can be reached by car.

Day 1: Siem Reap - Svay Sisophon – Bantey Chhmar- Bantey Torp

 

06:00 AM – Start from Siem Reap to Svay Sisophon, 100 KM from Siem Reap a Continue to Bantey Chhmar temple where we arrive around 11 AM a Sightseeing at Bantey Chhmar temple 3 hours and have a picnic lunch at the temple a continue to visit Bantey Torp a 4:00 PM return back from Bantey Chhmar temple to Svay, arrive at Svay at 5 PM a Overnight stay at PHNOM SVAY hotel.

 

Day 2 : Svay Sisophon - Siem Reap

 

Check out from hotel a Breakfast at PKAY PROEK restaurant at 8 AM a departure from Svay Sisophon back to Siem Reap

Morning itinerary:

From your hotel we ride along the East side of the Siem Reap River via a countryside trail where you can see the typical Cambodian rural lifestyle and agriculture. After a short while we reach the well paved road which links the main temples of Angkor. Visit Angkor Wat, the East Gate, Victory Gate and Ta Prohm temple.

After this return to Siem Reap (total ride distance about 24 km.)

(This tour can be expanded to a full day tour).

 

 

Optional tour #5:

ACTIVE TOURS= Cycling around Siem Reap FULL DAY

Morning: 33 km Ride on small trails through the countryside until Wat Trak temple (Chao Srei Vibol) and then onward to Bakong temple a Lunch a After lunch start with the second part of the trip (30 km), ride from Bakong to the Siem Reap river and onward to the Tonle Sap lake a take a boat trip on the Tonle Sap to visit the floating village a late afternoon ride back to Siem Reap.
